So what’s in a wiki?

Hi All

I checked out the wiki http://libsuccess.org/index.php?title=Main_Page

and i found it a great source of infomation, especially about weeding .. yeah i know im only a library assistant but i do like weeding .

This site has some great information on it .. I'll be spending some time on it looking for ideas and hints .. its always good to see what other library people have been up to ..

well i gave Librarything a go .. Not being a cataloguer its all new to me ..

its very interesting and i like the idea of grouping the books i like together although i need to do more work on it

A post about the Joys of Technology

Hello everyone out there ..

I have to say that technology has made the world a smaller place in my view. I can remember when i was young and speaking to the relatives from England, you said 'hello' then waited a bit until you heard your voice down the phone line. Then you got a reply and if you weren't careful you'd lose the conversation by talking over each other. Now it sounds like they are in the next room and i can call them on my mobile from where ever i am which is a good thing .

But im left a little cold by most of Todays technology. I think things are becoming a little impersonal.

To be honest i cant really complain because i met my wife on the internet and we are getting a new library system which should make life much better at work ..

Hi All

Back in 1999, ( i think was 1999) i went to England to visit the English relatives which i really enjoyed but i forgot to take pictures of some of the places because i wasn't feeling to well ( caught a cold on the plane ).. Typical isn't it the first time i get on a plane and i end up on the other side of the world.. I must say Dubai was a interesting experience .. Seems long hair on a man isn't good over there ..
So i figured i would look on flikr for photo's of the places i visited and bugger me if i didn't find a picture of the Newick Village Green .. Newick is where my Auntie and Uncle live and i have to say i did like it there .. Check out this pic on flikr ...

The House

Hello all

Well it seems after months of hard work on the house ( Big thanks to Cate for selling us the house ) its all coming together well ... We moved in and got settled, then the problems started . First the toilet was blocked ( no details im just not willing to go there) ... Then i've managed to blow the heater up and Dam those old Yallourn houses are cold .. So now Emily and myself both have the flu .. Oh well it can only get better from here ..
